About the Project
Artist for Ukraine was created to raise awareness and funds to deliver medical aid to the most destroyed parts of Ukraine.
We are grateful to Ian Maksin, Jonathan Alpeyrie, and Valentina Bilbao for kicking off this important initiative.
About Valentina Bilbao
Music is a central source of inspiration for Valentina Bilbao and the main media for her abstract paintings. Her process is to translate and decode music into artwork through collaborations with notable musicians. A striking color palette distinguishes each one of her artworks and these capture the energy found in music.

Bilbao's thematic use of a spatula is used to add dimension and texture, while the use of the dripping technique makes her a true action painter - painting from all angles. The circular form in her art symbolizes energy, cosmic creation and movement.
About Yana Golberg
I am a soul portraitist from Portland, OR. My art captures my most positive life experiences of childhood, friendship and love, as well as my passion for music and song poetry. It represents my love for people and how I see those that touch my own soul. The vibrancy and flexibility of oil pastels have no boundaries and this is what makes them the media of my choice.

Ukraine and its people have a very special place in my heart as all my family roots are from there. I visited the most beautiful cities of Ukraine in May of 2021, including my father's homeland - Kremenchuk. The warmth and hospitality felt throughout the entire trip and at every single place.

I know Ukraine will thrive again with invincible strength and vibrancy.

About Ian Maksin
Ian Maksin was born in Leningrad, former USSR, into a multinational family and grew up absorbing many cultures and traditions from an early age. Ian developed his own distinct style as a musician and composer: "At some point I realized that music is much more than mere entertainment. Music is one of the most powerful and unifying forces
in the world, capable of healing, inspiring, bringing people together,
and bringing peace." Ian dedicated a new original song and music video "Знов дощi" (Rain Again), featuring Ukrainian singer-songwriter Sofi Fraser as a tribute to the courage and resilience of the people of Ukraine.
