Why Identity Leadership™ For Parents?

PARENT ISSUES
• PARENTS ARE OFTEN OVERCOMMITTED AND UNDER-SUPPORTED.
• MANY HAVE FULL TIME, STRESSFUL JOBS.
• SOME OPERATE IN DUAL INCOME FAMILIES, LEAVING NO PARENT IN THE HOME TO SUPERVISE AFTER SCHOOL.
• MANY ARE IN SINGLE PARENT SITUATIONS, STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET.
• MANY FEEL OVERWHELMED BY DAILY PRACTICAL NECESSITIES AND DO NOT FEEL JUSTIFIED INVESTING TIME IN THEMSELVES.

PROGRAM NEEDS
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SKILLS BUILDING CAN LEAD TO THE CREATION OF JOBS, NEW BUSINESSES AND EVENTUALLY, ECONOMIC PROSPERITY IN THE COMMUNITY.

• Strong families and strong schools also lead to strong communities.
• In building strong families and communities, we must start at the foundation with the parents in the community who are involved with the lives of youth.

BELOW ARE SOME DISHEARTENING FACTS REGARDING YOUTH:
• More than 1 million students drop out of school in the United States each year.
• Minority students have about a 50-50 chance of graduating.
• Dropouts are about 3 times as likely as high school completers who do not go on to college to be welfare recipients.
• The unemployment rate for high school dropouts was 44.9 percent in October 2018.
• About 30 percent of federal and 40 percent of state prison inmates are high school dropouts.
• More than 7 million children have at least one parent under criminal justice system supervision.
